Ludicra

Track: Stagnant Pond
Artist: Ludicra
Album: The Tenant
Genre: Black metal, crust
Sounds Like: Krallice, Black Breath

Album download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?q4zljmz1zdu

I had the chance to see this band back in April with Krallice and Empyrean Plague.

They're a female-fronted black metal band from San Francisco. Their music also shows some crust influences. The band has some members from other bands, such as Ross the bassist (who is also in death metal/goregrind band Impaled), and Aesop the drummer (who is also in Agalloch).

Die Antwoord

Track: Evil Boy
Artist: Die Antwoord (feat. Wanga)
Album: $O$
Genre: Next Level Beats
Similar Artists: The Original Evergreens, Jack Parrow

I have a sneaking suspicion this song refers to the tradition of adult circumcision in various African tribes.

Sarke

Darkthrone's Nocturnal Culto is in another band.
They're pretty good at bringing the old school in the vein of Celtic Frost.
Fans of Darkthrone and first wave era Black Metal should find them worth checking out.

I'll upload album links shortly, when I'm more familiar with them

1349

Track: Sculptor of Flesh
Artist: 1349
Album: Hellfire
Genre: Black Metal
Similar Artists: Satyricon, Marduk, Gorgoroth

--> Album Download Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?u11mguyxbc2

I saw 1349 live last week. They were playing with Tom Warrior's (celtic frost) new band, Triptykon, who were equally amazing. I got to meet Tom Warrior (coolest) and Frost (again) and they both signed my jacket. I HAVE FROST'S SIGNATURE ON A FUCKING DRUMSTICK. If only I played the drums. . .I was sort of the drummer for my school band back in the day, but I was never allowed to play because of my sick Minor Threat-esque fills.

1349 played this song, right before closing with Atomic Chapel off their new album. Needless to say, I couldn't hold my neck up for a few days.

Autopsy [2]

I might post the new Autopsy EP if I like it enough. I've only had the chance to listen through it once in its entirety, but it made a good first impression. The productions could have been filthier, but I never really expected a Severed Survival clone. Nevertheless, the productions job is by no means bad; the riffs capture that old school vibe; and the vocals are powerful. The vocals are produced slightly differently--and at some times remind me of the Swedish black metal band Shining--which could put some off this otherwise quite accessible slab of gore-laden filth.

Autopsy

Track:
Twisted Mass of Burnt Decay/In the Grip of Winter
Artist: Autopsy
Album: Mental Funeral
Genre: Old-School Death Metal
Sounds Like: Possessed, Incantation, Abscess

--> Album Download Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?5y2tknkimjn

Essential old school death metal, doom metal influences and all. Imagine Darkthrone playing My Dying Bride covers. Production is stellar.

Take note of the scream towards the end of In the Grip of Winter. The next full track on the album is also excellent.

Track: Severed Survival
Artist: Autopsy
Album: Severed Survival
Genre: Old School Death Metal
Sounds Like: Possessed, Death, Repulsion

--> Album Download Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?yqlmzunnwtu

Autopsy's debut album features a rawer production job and vocals reminiscent of Scream Bloody Gore-Era Death. Severed Survival is thrashier than Autopsy's sophomore effort, making it my favourite of the two. The lyrics somehow manage to escape the hilarious, sterile nature of death metal poetry by focusing on storytelling and well timed delivery rather than relentlessly pursuing the shock factor, although they were probably pretty twisted for 89'.

"Stranded alone on a barren island
No food to be found
Point of desperation
Shocking desicion on how to survive
Now it's time to break out the knife
First inscion the cut is complete
First source of food is one of your feet
Incredible pain as you cauterize the wound
Preparing yourself for a horrible doom"

Gristleizer

This pedal/self-oscillating magic machine will be shipped to me soon. It's safe to say that I am rather excited. I should probably also mention that it's a recreation of the Gristleizer--a device designed and used by the artist Throbbing Gristle.

Suffocation

Track: Thrones of Blood
Artist: Suffocation
Album: Pierced from Within
Genre: Brutal, Technical Death Metal
Sounds Like: Defeated Sanity, Immolation, Deeds of Flesh, Decrepit Birth

Br00tal slamz, top notch death metal production, mind-boggling riffs, and perfectly executed drumming. A perfect synthesis of technicality and intensity.

Track: Jesus Wept
Artist: Suffocation
Album: Effigy of the Forgotten
Genre: Brutal, Technical Death Metal
Sounds Like: Immolation, Deeds of Flesh, Decrepit Birth, Defeated Sanity

--> Album Download Link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6tbja3t9

Suffocation's debut album. Features rawer production and a different kind of energy than Pierced from Within. Catchy riffs and slams are the rule of the day.

Fucking essential death metal
