I am ridiculously excited for this concert, especially for Immolation.
They're playing the Mod Club (Toronto) on October 4th.
Come on, October.

Immolation

Track: Father, You're not a Father
Artist: Immolation
Album: Close to a World Below
Genre: Brutal/Technical Death Metal
Sounds Like: Ulcerate, Incantation, Portal

Original, tight Death Metal riffing, excellent drums, and quality lyrics.
Top Notch song writing on what is probably Immolation's strongest work.
I'm not a big fan of the vocals on their other albums, but knowing the lyrics seriously helps fix that.

'Bless me, Father, for you've sinned against me.
It's been one week since you've raped me. . .'

Note: It was the hardest picking a track to represent this album. The opening track, title track, and 'Put my Hand in the Fire' are also stellar.

Arghoslent

Track: Dog and Broom
Artist: Arghoslent
Album: Hornets of the Pogrom
Genre: Death Metal/Heavy Metal
Sounds Like: Nothing I've ever come across. Please enlighten me.

Riffy, traditional Heavy-Metal inspired Death Metal certainly not for the masses. Bluesy as fuck at times, excellent lyrics (politics aside.)

It's important to note that the views of the bands I post do not necessarily represent the views of your captain, Spaceman Dave.

'Tortured bones break for the Gronzy. . .'

Wolves in the Throne Room are definitely one of my favourite black metal bands. Their live show was, as of yet, the greatest thing I have ever seen. I was sober.
